I love those shoes. So comfy. Know what else I love? Knee high socks.
I do not love carpal tunnel syndrome, or the doctor I went to see about it. I’m going to pay off some bills and get a second opinion.
I love coffee.
I do not love the wear and tear on my wrist brought on by tamping espresso shots.
I’ve been working on balancing my work load in a way that’s more ergonoically friendly. I hold the milk pitcher in my left hand and tamp shots with my right. I suppose I can train myself to knit with my left hand and purl with my right. I just can’t get the hang of purling continentally.
I love the sound of my baby snoring softly, and I love driving around and looking for houses to buy with my husband.
I had more to say last night, but I forgot all about it now.

Yesterday I went outside for the first time in two months.

I live by a huge park. Yesterday, it was finally warm enough to bundle Bobby up and take a walk. He was very quiet the whole time and stared at the trees. I can’t wait until it’s spring. Spring is my favorite time of year. My birthday is in April and I like to pretend that everything coming back to life is a birthday present just for me.
I ordered some new shoes the other day. When I was little, my mom always bought us one pair of shoes to wear every day until we outgrew them. I’m pretty hard on shoes and I still prefer to wear one pair until they die. Whelp, I’m trying to go back to work and my shoes are not interview worthy anymore, so I bought some Danskos and hopefully they should last for a while.
I love brown shoes. I love Mary Janes. Hopefully these shoes will show off handknit socks.
I need to buy a cord for Larry’s camera so I can put pictures up on this thing. I’ve been knitting quite a bit. I knit a Noro striped moebius cowl without making a gauge swatch. BIG MISTAKE. Now it’s my Noro striped moebius wall decoration. I’m making a Cousteau hat for my father-in-law. During the epic blizzard, my mother-in-law stole his wool hat. Sneaky. And I have a nice cowl that needs buttons and blocking. Maybe that will be my sister’s birthday present.
I’m almost done with The Picture of Dorian Gray. I really like it. We’re reading Love in the Time Of Cholera for next month for Valentine’s Day, and then Island by Aldous Huxley in March for Lost. YEAH! I’m really excited to host book club next month so I can get my bake on.

big day
November 12, 2009
I put my wedding ring back on today. I had to take it off when I was 27 or 28 weeks pregnant and my fingers swelled.
Today is Larry’s birthday. We’re taking Bobby to the doctor for his 8 week appointment. He’ll probably start shots today. Happy birthday, Larry, here’s a screaming baby.
Nothin’ but the knits
June 19, 2009
Busy knitting weeks lately! First I had to make a pair of booties for a baby shower, I made Ice Queen for my mother-in-law, and now I’m taking a break from LPBII’s Tomten Jacket to knit Nautie. That poor kid is going to be the weird kid in grade school, I can tell already. I’m sorry, buddy.

Isn’t it cool looking, though? I’m using some handspun BFL for the shell and I haven’t given much thought to the rest of it yet. I’m sure I have some brown yarn that will look nice somewhere.

I used Alpaca With a Twist Fino for this and some blue beads I bought years and years ago. She likes it very much.
I’m starting to nest a little bit. I’ve been going through my house, room by room, and cleaning it pretty thoroughly. I’ve even been doing maintenance cleaning. WTF is wrong with me?
I made a cherry cobbler last week. It was delicious.

I’ve been working on a lot of knitting projects since then. I finished some baby booties for a baby shower, I’m almost done with my mother-in-law’s birthday present, and I made a scarf for myself. Now I’m working on a hat.
I like to make lists. The current ones are things I want to get done in the next four months. Here is a knitting one:
Tomten Jacket (LPBII)
Striped sweater (LPBII)
Chuck Taylor booties (LPBII)
Lilac Leaf Shawl (Jamie)
Beau (Larry)
Riding To Avalon (me)
and I’ll probably add more to it before now and then. LPBII, I’m going to welcome you to the world with knits. Look out.
Hello world!
